The Trace
The trace is a program that can only be seen in data view. It is triggered by overstaying your welcome on a network connection or falling fowl to a honeypot device, or a canary file being accidentally tirggered. once activated it will follow your network connections and logs to search you out. If the trace catches up to the player then you have been 'hacked back', there can be stun and cool down effects on your tools, and it can beacon to the Feds that your location has been found. Being traced is essentially game over in the majority of instances.
